Speaking Engagements
My personal vision is to encourage the elevation of laelia, myrmecophia, and their hybrids to a higher level of appreciation; to encourage AOS judges to evaluate these hybrids with relevant standards, i.e. The possibilities of what the progeny of the two parents might produce and to honor the best of these results; and to inspire and encourage the establishment of an annual AOS trophy for the highest awarded laelia/mcp hybrid each year.
Programs Available

Introducing the Schomburgkia(Laelia) and Myrmecophila species with examples of their various hybrids within the Cattleya Alliance.

Showing various hybrids and their parents with a discussion of which characteristics dominated and came from which parent.

Demonstrating how these genera naturalize in a sub-tropical/moderate climate (with a Review of the Schombo/Laelia and Myrmecophila species).

Illustrating the fantastic variety available within the Schombo-Hybrid group.

A detailed program designed mainly for Species Symposiums, Judges’ Workshops, and Species focused societies etc.

After reviewing the species we hold a quiz show using photos and schom ads from EBAY and Internet with minor prizes.

Information For Program Scheduling

Negotiable depending on the membership size and budget of the society as well as permission to sell orchids without penalty.

$.50 per mile round-trip plus hotel accommodations for two when an overnight stay is required.

Round-trip economy airfare plus hotel accommodations and some meals.
NOTE: For out-of-state societies considering this program we recommend coordinating with other ‘neighbor’ societies which meet on the previous or following evenings in order to share expenses.
