Support Future Schom Hybrids

Everyone who loves Schom Hybrids is encouraged to please consider a donation to the American Orchid Society (AOS) for their Annual Storm Schom Hybrid Award.  Your donation is tax-deductible and by law can only be used by the AOS for this specific purpose.  Every year the AOS Judges vote on the best awarded Schom Hybrid of the year, and awards the plant owner a prize of the accrued interest for the year from the principal, with a small stipend to the photographer.  This award  helps encourage Schom hybridizers  to make more and better Schom Hybrids and enter them for judging to compete for the Annual Award.

Please visit the American Orchid Society website or call them at 1-305-740-2010. Please clarify that your donation is specifically for The Paul and Mary Storm Award.  No donation is too small, and your name will be acknowledged in their monthly ORCHIDS magazine.

Together we can all support and encourage the future of “SCHOMBO-LOVE” and EVERYONE WHO LOVES SCHOM HYBRIDS WINS!!

Sincere thanks for your consideration.

The Paul and Mary Storm Award is given to the grower of the orchid plant regarded as the most outstanding example of a hybrid with at least one valid Myrmecophila species and/or the following former Schomburgkia species now classified in the genus Laelia: colombiana, heidii, elata, gloriosa, lueddemannii, lyonsii, marginata, moyobambae, rosea, schultzei, splendida, superbiens, undulata, or weberbaueriana in its background, awarded during the previous calendar year. The award was established in 2017 and endowed by friends of Paul and Mary Storm. The award honors hybrids that are not intended to be round, full flowers.
